Austria’s capital community volunteers deliver fact-based drug education with young people across the city

Vienna — 23 eu news brexit December 2025 — Community volunteers linked to Foundation for a Drug-Free World Austria are expanding outreach in Vienna, engaging youth, families and educators via public information points and event-based activities. Led locally by Gabriele Toker, the initiative relies on “Truth About Drugs” materials to present straightforward information on commonly abused substances, with particular attention to cannabis, described by public monitoring bodies as the most widely used illicit drug in Europe. Details were published in a published overview.

Organisers say, the Vienna activities focus on early prevention, including at large public gatherings such as the Donauinselfest, while also supporting teachers seeking prevention tools for schools. Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and the United Nations, said: “Reliable, early information helps young people make free and responsible choices—supporting both community well-being and European civic values.”
